Over the past few years there have been many instances where saying “She’s Beautiful” would probably put you watching one of our videos. In this case the “She” would be an Alfa, a 105 GTV. We caught up with Ilya Bridan, a SoCal car designer and one of the brothers behind the amazing Safari Alfa “Dropped Alfa”

Tell us who you are.

My name is Iliya Bridan. I'm co-owner of the car with my brother Nikita Bridan. We are identical twins from Canada working as car designers here in SoCal.

How did you get into what you do?

Loved drawing as kids and by age 10 knew we wanted to be car designers. Just followed that path and luckily it worked out.

How did you come about the idea for your car?

The idea for the build came about for one reason. The car was in nice shape until one day it got dropped off a flatbed during a tow. Car was pretty much mangled. During the insurance standoff that ensued we came up with a few ideas. One was a low crazy race car. The other was a lifted safari Alfa. After sketching on it and taking it into digital CAD we decided the Safari was the way to go. Matched the damage on the car better. Battle scar vibes.

Do you Stick Shift or Automatic?

Manual only!!!!!

What is your least favorite car?

No least favorite cars, but chubby little crossovers are frustrating.

What car do you drive the most?

Too many cars. Drive them all. Alfa gets alot of action.

If you were a car, what would it be and why?

If I was a car I'd be something that doesn't exist yet. Something from my designer mind that still needs to be made.

Who inspires you?

Passionate people with stories for days. They are fascinating to talk to and teach you knew things. Anyone with drive ambition and passion is inspiration

Favorite curse word?

Fuck. Old rusty bolts will make that happen.

Do you believe in ghosts?

No ghosts

Drink of choice?

White Russians or Moscow Mules.

What has made you laugh your ass off recently?

Watching wiener dog racing and all the possible things that can be said about that.

What would you like to be if you weren't a ________?

If I wasn't a designer, I'd work on a formula one team. Be a janitor or something. Doesn't even matter what.
